STUDENTS NOT ATTENDING FIRST DAY OF CLASS WILL BE DROPPED. COURSE MAY NOT BE ADDED IF FIRST DAY OF CLASS IS MISSED. ATTENDANCE REQUIRED 1ST 3 DAYS OF QUARTER TO MAINTAIN ENROLLMENT. FINAL EXAM DAY WILL BE THE FIRST SATURDAY IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE LAST DAY OF CLASS. GRADUATE STUDENTS SEE ARAB 511. NO ACCESS, AUDIT, OR NON-MATRICULATED STUDENTS WITHOUT INSTRUCTOR PERMISSION. THIS COURSE WILL HAVE SIGNIFICANT ONLINE CONTENT.
Catalog Description:
Develops the four communicative language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Stresses communication skills and emphasizes the links between language and culture, using mainly Modern Standard Arabic, with exposure to Egyptian Colloquial Arabic. Cannot be taken for credit if ARAB 105 or ARAB 411 taken for credit. First in a sequence of three.
