MELC SUMMER STUDY ABROAD: ARABIC LANGUAGE AND CULTURE IN MOROCCO!

This year MELC is launching a new summer study program, Arabic Language & Culture in Morocco, under the direction of Professors Amina Moujtahid and Hussein Elkhafaifi.

The program is open to students currently enrolled at UW and also UW Alumni. All former and current students of our first-year and second-year Arabic courses or equivalent and Arabic Media courses are encouraged to apply.

Applications due: February 14, 2024.

This program is eligible for use with financial aid, meaning a student can use their financial aid award to help pay program fees.

Undergraduate and graduate students who wish to join the program must satisfy the following prerequisites:

 

  1. Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.

  2. Have completed one year of Arabic: ARAB 101/511, ARAB 102/512, and ARAB 103/513 , or equivalent

  3. Complete a predeparture orientation course of 4 sessions (the first 4 Fridays of April from 11:30 to 1:30).
