The NELC Department's Conference Room, Denny Hall 211, hosted the end of the academic year reception organized by the Interdisciplinary PhD Program in Near and Middle Eastern in Graduate School (NMES) to celebrate student and faculty achievements and meet fellow colleagues.
The Middle East Center (JSIS), NELC, and NMES programs met in Denny Hall and discussed projects, classes, and research between programs and encourage cooperation across the units before the summer term begins.
The heads of all three programs, Selim Kuru (NELC), Arzoo Osanloo (MEC) and Cabeiri Robinson (NMES) greeted the guests to the reception and encouraged the conversations to continue at the next quarterly reception hosted by the MEC program in Autumn Quarter.
Last four years, the three units have been collaborating to enhance communication among faculty, staff and students as well as community members through organization of quarterly parties: a Welcome Back party by MEC in Autumn Quarter, a Winter Party by NELC and an End of the Year party by NMES.
