We are proud to announce that NELC graduate student, Forrest Martin, is the recipient of this year's Michael A. Williams Award.

This award was established by generous donors in honor of Michael A. Williams, Professor of Comparative Religion and Near Eastern Languages and Civilization, and chair of our department from 1997 to 2005. This prize may be awarded to majors, minors, and MA students in the Department of Near Eastern Languages & Civilization. While we received many submissions, Forrest's annotated translation, “The Admonitions of an Egyptian Sage”, proved to be most deserving of this year’s prize.

Congratulations Forrest!
