A Conversation with Jamal Gabobe - Somali-American Poet

The poet, Jamal Gabobe, has a Ph.D in Comparative Literature from the University of Washington. He is a multi-lingual writer. In addition to ‘The Path of difference’, Mr. Gabobe has written another book of poems in English ‘Love and Memory’ and an Arabic poetry book (Qalbun La Yanam). His essay was featured in the anthology 'An Ear to the Ground: Presenting Writers from 2 Coasts.' He was part of the Jackstraw Writers Program, has written on modern Egyptian literature and the Canadian author Margaret Laurence, and is an editor with Access*: Interdisciplinary Journal of Student Research and Scholarship. Jamal Gabobe also has six years of experience as an instructor/consultant at the University of Washington’s Center for Teaching and Learning where he taught courses on pedagogy and is staff at the University of Washington’s libraries.
