Erin Kelleher

Before beginning at UW, I received a BA in History with a minor in Arabic from the University of
Delaware. In the NELC program, my concentration language is Arabic; my secondary language
is Turkish, and my research language is French. Currently, I am interested in late nineteenth and early twentieth-century print media in Egypt, especially as it relates to emerging conceptions of national identity among Egyptians in this period.

I have received the Turkish and Ottoman Literature Fellowship, as well as two FLAS language scholarships for Turkish while at UW.
